What’s Special About This Concert:
Experience the world premiere of a new work by Oklahoma Chamber Symphony Composer in Residence Hamed Erfani, written especially for the orchestra and performed for the very first time.
Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” shattered expectations of what a symphony could be, expanding the scale, emotion, and drama of orchestral music in revolutionary ways.
Originally inspired by ideas of heroism and human greatness, the “Eroica” moves from triumphant grandeur to profound moments of reflection, including one of the most moving funeral marches ever written.
This performance commemorates the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death, celebrating the lasting influence of a composer whose music forever changed the course of classical music.
