The Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Wizards in Winter, Dreams of Fireflies, Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24, and A Mad Russian’s Christmas bring a rock-and-roll energy to the season, with soaring electric guitars, powerful orchestra, and dazzling rhythms.
We open with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Christmas Overture, a joyful, rarely heard gem filled with traditional carols — performed in honor of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
Experience a rare holiday treasure: William Henry Fry’s Santa Claus Symphony — the first known American symphony, written in 1853. This charming and cinematic work tells the entire story of Christmas Eve, from the quiet of midnight to the joyful arrival of Santa’s sleigh.
Celebrate the season’s diversity with Jonathan Allentoff’s Chanukah Divertimento, followed by a sleigh-full of favorites from Leroy Anderson
